(01.03.2026) A momentous milestone for Malaysia’s legal landscape. We are proud to celebrate the appointment of our distinguished alumni to the inaugural Asian International Arbitration Centre Court of Arbitration, led by Dato’ Mary Lim Thiam Suan as its 1st President.
The establishment of this Court marks a significant step in Malaysia’s alternative dispute resolution (ADR) reforms. It is an honour to see our graduates chosen to provide their expertise to this global institution. Our Alumni on the Court are as follows:
•Tan Sri Abdul Rahman Sebli (Class of 1983) – Former Federal Court Judge and Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak.
•Ms. Kamilah Kasim (Class of 1987) – Partner, RDS Partnership.
•Mr. Leng Sun Chan, SC (Class of 1988) – Senior Counsel and Arbitrator with Duxton Hill Chambers (Singapore Group Practice).
Their achievements continue the University of Malaya Law Faculty’s legacy of excellence and leadership in the legal profession. We wish them and all appointees every success in this new chapter.
